The holidays can be a challenge when you have a diabetes diagnosis, but they don’t have to defeat you. This traditional fan-favorite side dish is easy to make and also easy on your carb counts. With only 15G of carbohydrates per serving, a second helping won’t undo your day!
Ingredients
4 cups frozen green beans
1 can condensed mushroom soup
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tsp soy-sauce
1/4 cup reduced fat milk
1/4 cup cheddar cheese
1 container french fried onions
Directions
1.) Preheat oven to 350°F
2.) Mix soup, broth, soy-sauce, milk and cheddar cheese together
3.) Add green beans to mixture and mix until evenly coated
4.) Add mixture to shallow oven-safe pan
5.) Bake in oven for 45-60 minutes or until green beans are tender
6.) Remove pan from oven and cover with french fried onions. Bake for additional 5-10 minutes until lightly browned.
